Summer is finally here and it looks as though it’s in full force! Hooray! We here at d’Vine Tours LOVE getting out to the Swan Valley in summer time and finding the ‘coolest’ spots to spend some qual time with good mates..
Perhaps you love a refreshing cider in the HEAT of summer?? Why not head to FUNK Cider located on Benara Rd. The Funk guys seriously know how to crush some fruit and offer a range of different flavours that are al’ naturale. They have plenty of shaded seating options too no need to worry about getting scorched by our summer sun. PLUS if you’re in need of a descent feed then you’ll be at the right place! FUNK Cider is the home of Urban Food Mafia – modern Mediterranean eats serving brunch and lunch. Be sure to check them out as there is something for everyone – from burgers and wings to grazing boards and fresh salads… YUM!
If it’s vino you’re after – nothing beats settling at the Award Winning Mandoon Estate Winery OR Houghton Estate Winery – Both of these fabulous venues offer great wine, yummy food, live music, beautifully shaded outdoor seating as well as inside tables and they are both kid friendly! AHEM TO THAT! At Mandoon there is a great kids playground for the little ones, and Houghton offers enough ground to kick your footy around.
If it’s a winery on a smaller scale you’re after, have you been to the lovely Fig Tree Estate yet?! Fig Tree is tucked away away on Bisdee Rd, Millendon (in land towards the hills and right around the corner from Feral Brewery), and is a family owned boutique winery serving up some seriously fine handcrafted wine! Fig Tree Estate have recently started doing food as well – pop in there for some wine tastings and a cider tasting (YES they do a cider which is FAB), followed by some antipasto boards and wood fired pizza.. bellissimo! They have shaded areas, friendly pets and serve ice cold beers if you’re there to support the wine lover 😉
Now if you’re after a thirst quenching brew why not head to the one and only Feral Brewing Co located on Haddrill Rd? Feral is one of our fav venues to relax at for a few hours – they have about 16 beers on tap most of the time (WOW) and don’t get me started on the food (WOW). Their grounds are casual and fun with a few different options of where to park yourselves whilst you sink into good grub and beer. They also have MISTERS which we all love on those hot days!
